Interview with Donna Augustine

This week I’m featuring Donna Augustine for my author interview series.  She’s an urban fantasy writer who has published eleven novels so far in three series:  The Keepers, Karma, and The Wilds.

The first novel in her Karma series, also titled “Karma” is currently free on Amazon and iTunes.  At the end of this post, you’ll find more details about it and links to where you can get your copy.  For now, check out my interview and the giveaway she’s offering for those who leave a comment.

*****

What is your beverage of choice when you first wake up? What happens if you can’t get it?

Coffee. I drink it for the first two waking hours. I went on a camping trip once (and only once) and I was unaware that there wouldn’t be coffee. I’m not sure where I thought the coffee would magically appear from but apparently, fairies don’t deliver caffeine on demand. There might be bodies buried at that campsite but I’m pleading temporary insanity.

Do you have pets? If so, what kind and do they help you write your books?

I have three cats. Two I adopted and a third that decided he was moving in, whether I liked it or not. I don’t know if they help me write but they do relax me.

If someone was willing to pay you a million dollars cash to run down the street naked, would you do it?

Yes, but only if I were asked in the next few years. Funny things are happening now that I’m in my forties. That’s all I’ll write on the subject. Trust me, it’s all you want to know.

What genres of books do you like to read?

When I’m looking for a book, I tend to gravitate toward urban fantasy. I’ll read anything though if I catch a snippet and if I like a writer’s voice.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

Nothing I can admit to without fearing prosecution.

Name a few of the TV shows you like to watch.

Game of Thrones, along with half the world but there’s clearly a reason. Better Call Saul. OMG, do I love that show! The Walking Dead is also great. I was never much of a zombie person until that show.

If money were no object, what kind of car would you get?

A 1969 Corvette Stingray. There are a lot of cars that are more exotic but I’ve loved that car since I was a kid. I’ve even toyed with the idea of buying one that I could restore myself but I already have too many hobbies taking up space. That would be a tough one to stick in the closet when I’m trying to straighten up.

Thanks for stopping by to visit today, Donna.  I totally commiserate about your need for coffee, though I’d never dare go camping without it (not even when I was in the military).

AUTHOR BIO

Donna Augustine was an odd child, had a brief moment of conformity in early adulthood and then decided to embrace her craziness as the years rolled by. It’s her inner crazy that she credits with coming up with the ideas for her books. One part hypochondriac, a few dashes of paranoia, topped with a sliver of uptight and delivered with a relaxed flair, she kicked the proverbial box down the yellow brick road a couple years ago to embrace her true self.

She can be reached by a carrier pigeon, set free in a south by north direction, where she resides in Neverland with her two Siberian cats. Cats who, by the way, aren’t as hypoallergenic as she believed they’d be.

For the conventional minded, and those of you without a pigeon on hand, she can be reached at [email protected] She responds to most emails within three dusk periods.

P.S. For those of you looking for the discarded box, it was sitting beside the road for a while but has since disappeared completely.

You can find all her books here on Amazon:  http://www.amazon.com/-/e/B00B3LM2LK

and Murphy’s Law, who’s a bumbling oaf. But the worst is Fate. He’s got a problem with transfers like myself, and I have to see him constantly. It’s unavoidable. We’re hunting the same man, my murderer.
